Saxonwold 2

The original Cape Dutch house used to be the Art Foundation in Johannesburg but has subsequently been turned into an elegant home with a large garden. It was a major construction project as the original garden was sunken and the pool and tennis court were changed.

The new pool was moved across the lawn into a private pool area with its own terrace for enjoying hot summer days at the pool. The tennis court was moved into the back and enclosed in hedges. A magnificent and productive veggie garden which is constantly being filled with exciting and edible vegetables, herbs and flowers, The driveway is in white crushed stone which has had solid pathways created out of the same stone. 4 Large Phoenix Canariensis palms were brought in with a crane and make an imposing picture in front of the house.

A large rose garden filled with only 2 rose types “Roberto Cappucci” and “Alex Red”. Both highly perfumed. 35 large Viburnum Senensis were brought in to screen the house from the road and have now been pruned into a remarkable hedge.

An immaculate garden.
